Trip to Vietnam: Questions from a newbie
Quote from Eleanor Jackson on 14. March 2024, 5:34his is my first time traveling internationally so hopefully y'all can provide some feedback about my current plan. I am going to be spending a month in Vietnam with a friend. We'd like to fly into Ho Chi Man City, rent motor bikes and tour the countryside while staying in hostels. Our final destination is Hanoi. We'll both be living out of backpacking and don't mind roughing it. Any tips or advice from someone who's actually been to Vietnam? Is traveling south to north on motorbikes unfeasible in a month?

Quote from Ronnie Grimes on 21. March 2024, 10:01Oh. If you are coming to Vietnam for the first time, traveling from south to north is quite a challenging journey. Vietnam is a country with many means of transportation, especially motorbikes. Moreover, they go very fast. Consider carefully whether you have enough courage and health.

Quote from Jaronte Bowman on 19. June 2024, 3:55Obtain a money belt and fill it with cash and your passport. You do not want to have nothing after having your suitcase stolen. This is significant. Motorbike bag theft is a well-known incident at the bus terminal in the Hanoi vicinity. The same applies if you're waiting to cross the street on a corner with your phone in your hand. If you do that, it will be taken.

Quote from Holder Emil on 27. June 2024, 11:21Oh, the distance from South to North is quite far so I think if you travel by motorbike it will be very tiring. Consider traveling by car and plane. Airfare in Vietnam is also quite cheap. Besides, if you come to Hanoi, don't forget to enjoy the specialties there. The food there was delicious.

Quote from delwy charmaine on 31. July 2024, 3:50Vietnam is about 1,600 km long from south to north, so planning your That's Not My Neighbor itinerary is important. Important stops may include Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue, and Hanoi. Take your time to explore each place thoroughly. Drink plenty of water, use sunscreen, and eat at clean places to avoid digestive problems. Having travel insurance that covers motorbike accidents is a good idea.
